June 8, 2026: New Electronic Health Record Go-Live at MCRHC

For 75 years, Mitchell County Regional Health Center (MCRHC) has been a trusted part of life in Mitchell County. Now, its locations in Osage, St. Ansgar and Riceville are taking a major step into the future with the launch of a new electronic health record system.
MCRHC will officially go live with the new system on Monday, June 8, marking a significant milestone for the organization and the communities it serves. The new system, Oracle Health CommunityWorks, brings patient information such as medical history, medications and test results together in one secure digital record. This gives care teams faster access to the information they need and supports more coordinated care.

For more than a year, MCRHC staff and providers have been working together to prepare for this transition. That work has included training, testing and building workflows designed to support patients and strengthen care across all locations.

“This is an exciting moment for MCRHC,” said Shelly Russell, CEO of Mitchell County Regional Health Center. “As we celebrate 75 years of caring for our community, we are also looking ahead and investing in the tools and technology that will help us continue delivering high-quality, connected care for generations to come.”

Patients will notice some changes during visits as providers and staff begin using the new system to review and update information in real time. This approach helps improve accuracy and ensures care teams have access to the most up-to-date information across departments and locations. As the transition begins, appointment availability may be slightly more limited for a short time as schedules are adjusted. Patients should bring identification to appointments, including a photo ID and current insurance cards, to help ensure information is entered accurately into the new system.

“As healthcare continues to evolve, it is important that we evolve with it,” Russell said. “This investment strengthens our ability to care for patients today while building a strong foundation for the future.”
