Mitchell County Regional Health Center will offer a free “Welcome to Medicare” seminar on Thursday, August 18, from 6 p.m. – 7 p.m. at the Osage Public Library, 406 Main Street. Please register by August 5, by calling 641-732-6000 or 641-736-4401.
A counselor from the Senior Health Insurance Information Program (SHIIP) will facilitate the seminar.
“This free seminar is ideal for anyone who will be eligible for Medicare in the near future or those who want to better understand what it offers,” said Shirley Penney, Mitchell County Regional Health Center SHIIP counselor. Those who have already enrolled in Medicare are welcome to attend as are family members.
“Medicare is such an important program and understanding what it offers helps ensure that anyone eligible gets the health benefits they deserve,” Penney said.
“Welcome to Medicare” will cover Medicare Part A and Part B benefits, the prescription drug benefit (Part D), Medicare Advantage plans and Medicare supplement insurance.
SHIIP, the Senior Health Insurance Information Program, is a service of the State of Iowa. SHIIP services are free, confidential, and unbiased. SHIIP counselors are trained by the state and do not sell or promote any insurance companies, policies or agents.
